- Prosecutors Reject Bail Request
The ex-girlfriend of rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who had initially planned to testify against him in a sex trafficking trial, has now asked the judge to release him on bail.
Virginia Huynh, identified in court documents as “Victim 3,” submitted a letter stating that the artist has changed and no longer poses a threat.
The letter was sent to federal judge Arun Subramanian on Sunday and was signed by Huynh herself. The document was filed by Combs’ legal team, as the rapper remains in custody in New York.
In her letter, Huynh acknowledges having had a troubled relationship with Combs but insists that he “has made visible efforts to be a better person.”
Diddy Combs’ Ex-Girlfriend: From Key Witness to Defender of the Accused

According to her initial testimony, Diddy Combs forced her to participate in “freak offs”—orgies involving prostitutes—and acted violently during their relationship.
However, she now states that the rapper “hasn’t been violent in many years” and has instead focused on being a father, according to EFE.

Her declaration has caused a stir, as she was considered a key witness for the prosecution.
Alongside testimony from singer Cassie Ventura and another woman referred to as “Jane,” Huynh’s account played a fundamental role in launching the case.
Verdict Reached During Jury Selection Phase
Despite being listed as a witness, Huynh did not appear in court.
During jury selection, prosecutors admitted they were unable to locate her or contact her legal representatives. As a result, she was dismissed from the trial.
Cassie Ventura and Jane did testify, both delivering statements describing sexual assault and forced participation in sex marathons orchestrated by Diddy Combs.
After two months of trial, the rapper was found guilty only of the charge of transporting for the purpose of prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges: sex trafficking and racketeering.
Bail Denied and New Multi-Million-Dollar Offer
Since then, Diddy Combs has remained in pretrial detention, awaiting his final sentencing, scheduled for October 3.
His attorneys initially requested his release on $1 million bail, which Judge Subramanian denied.
The judge argued that Combs posed a risk to his former partners, given his history of violence. Last week, the defense renewed their request, this time offering $50 million in bail.
Prosecutors again opposed the motion, arguing that releasing the defendant could endanger the victims. With her letter, Huynh aims to support the bail request and insists that the artist has been “cooperative and respectful” throughout the proceedings.
Prosecutors Insist on Keeping Diddy Combs in Custody
She asserts that “if released, he will comply with all imposed conditions and will not risk his freedom.” She also argues that his release could help facilitate healing for all involved parties.
Huynh’s intervention marks an unexpected twist in the case, as she reverses her original position and offers a moral exoneration of the singer.
The trial has been closely followed by the media, due to Diddy Combs’ fame and the gravity of the allegations.
So far, prosecutors remain firm in keeping him detained. It remains to be seen whether his ex-girlfriend’s written testimony will sway the court, according to EFE and Milenio.
